I know I had up to two in an earlier game, like an idiot spraying down teammates running out of a corner, but not 5.  Was there an issue or a way to note if I really did have that many TKs?  I'm usually pretty good about that stuff, but in hardcore it's tough not to have any.  It's possible that I tossed a grenade somewhere crowded but I don't recall that.  Maybe I was just more oblivious than usual.

I've been a FPS player since the early 90's, back to the days of Wolfenstein, Doom, and Heretic. I've played virtually every edition of Battlefield. I do play other FPS games such as Crysis, Quake 4, Halo, etc.. I also play RTS games like Starcraft and Civilization. I used to play COD but since World of War, I have detested the direction of the company and refused to buy their products.

I am a computer technician by trade, but I play with photoshop and enjoy building gaming rigs too. I'm a car enthusiast, and I love my cars more than computers.

I've been an admin for a clan, as well as been a member of several clans. I've also been an admin of a couple 100k member forums. I enjoy team oriented play, but more importantly, I enjoy GOOD people to play with. I don't tolerate holier than thou people, and I don't care whether you are an admin or a plain jane member. You get the same treatment from me regardless of who you are.

I just made this site for my world of tanks group...notice i made a link to this site...I was wondering if it would be possible to get the same courtesy.

Its cross gaming so it wouldnt be like dual clanning...

The only time 320s spamming a choke point  is irritating is when I know I am dumb enough to walk into that choke point twice knowing they are spamming 320s... Smoke works wonders, but I guess the liberal agenda is working against non-smoking sections..  There is always a way around every situation.

I guess if it is really weighing heavily on your heart, then you can report us.  But I'm not worried about being shut down any time soon.  If you don't like our server, then I encourage you to find another one.  At last count, there were around 14,000 BF3 servers.  I'm sure one of them has just the right rule set for you.

I know that Eagle has access to the admin tools for the servers, as well as Turk. If you add -Eagle-A- to your battlelog you will be able to find AOM Turk on his friend's list, as well as many other Admins and members of XTG and AOM you can add. The more you have, the better the chances of reporting a rule breaker to someone that can actually do something about it (aka ban). :)

Mortars don't bother me all that much, especially on the large conquest maps, but on rush, it is "too effective" since one can sit way back and keep hammering the stations.

So what does one do in this situation? When one or both teams are complaining about person(s) using mortar, what can one do when no admin is available? Should we record and report here?

I don't want to get banned cause I do enjoy the server (one of few with mixed modes and maps) but if people are complaining, I'll warn the one(s) who are going against the server rule. If they listen, great! If not, then I tend to make it my mission to kill them and only them, friend or foe.

But what would be the better way of going about this so I don't risk getting punished?

Just to let you know, ADMIN is Punkbuster.  There is no way that our admins have access to the server to where they can type out whatever they want under the disguise of ADMIN.  So I'm sorry that you're a little confused about that.  Our server has the ability to admin itself, but I'm a little baffled by the reason you were kicked, and also that it would kick you for calling it a baby.  It is possible that one of our members who is an admin was in the game and was observing your behavior, but again everyone in here knows how to communicate in a respectable way to any pubber who has a question.

In regards to the actual mortar rule, we banned it the day that BF3 came out because we saw that it A) is a great tool to spawn rape with B) is a great tool to spam shells on the MCOMs thereby preventing any kind of plant by the enemy and C) is just downright cheap when you look at it from a tactical view.  You will always have campers.  I'm sorry to say that since I hate the people who sit in corners and shoot you as you run by, but mortars are ultimately useless against them.  You know that mortars are used by observing the dots on the map, correct?  Any camper worth his salt, (and there are alot of them) knows that to successfully camp and not be shot by a mortar is to use a suppressor.  All suppressors have the same effect by making the user invisible on the map to both players, and mortar users.  So mortars are useless there.  Also, should you decide to use one, an enemy can simply run within range, deploy his mortar, and take you out, thereby turning the whole match into "which mortar can die faster?" It ruins the game for the team, since if you want to use the mortar effectively you need a MAV, or a teammate who knows how to spot for you.  But since both of those requirements are rare on the servers out there, you can't use a mortar unless you're on vent or TS server talking with your teammates.  

Now in regards to the statement that EA created this game where everything has a purpose, I will have to agree with you on that.... To a degree.  You see, this game isn't perfect.  None are.  But to nerf the mortar twice and still have it used in a cheap manner that nobody likes is just sad on EA's end.  If they scrapped the mortar idea, then it would make the game so much better.  Or if they scrapped it, then totally revamped it, it would still be better than the way they have it now.  I'm sorry that you don't like our rule on mortars, but that's our take on it.  And 85% of the people who play on our server agree with us, along with the clans that we scrim with.  We do Squad Rush scrims, and I can promise you that in all of our scrims with 5 or 6 different clans, we've never once used a mortar during the scrim, and neither have they.  Because they know that the mortars aren't tactical, and they're an easy kill for anyone on the enemy team, since the mortar icon is a nice shiny red for everyone on the enemy team to see on their map.  I hope this answers your question(s).  Please feel free to contact me ingame or post on this forum thread again.  Thank you for your patience in this matter.

I know we have more servers now, and I really don't enjoy the new maps, but we can't do a thing about that since Eagle doesn't have access to that stuff.

But, Mortars are banned. RPG's should not be, and should be allowed to be used against Infantry. M320's I'm okay with unless people just spam the hell out of chokepoints, then it's irritating, and they will need to back off a bit. Tactical Lights definitely need to be GONE. Lasers are alright. 
But the shotties with the 12G-Frag rounds are a big turn-off to me, so I'd say trash 'em. Ain't nothing tactical about them if you can kill people from 100 yards away with them.

There's more, but they are things that Admins can't critique. Only patches can fix 'em.

I agree with Mortars and tactical lights, aside from that I see no need to ban anything else. Grenade launchers are not overpowered in BF3 like they are in COD.

As for the shotguns they can be annoying with frag rounds, but I don't see them as bannable weapons.
 

One thing I take exception to is the unlimited flares that aircraft seem to have, this prevents them being shot down unless you have multiple people firing at them, almost at the same time.
